Finally retired my battle-scarred AK-47 Safari Mesh after 2000+ hours. Wanted something decent without selling a kidney. Went down a rabbit hole researching skin patterns and discovered https://dmarket.com/cs2-wiki/ which has these insanely detailed weapon guides. Their AK section breaks down which finishes have clean magazines versus scratched ones even in factory new condition. Ended up grabbing an Empress with a centered pattern that looks way cleaner in-game than the marketplace screenshots suggested. Their wear simulator shows exactly how each skin degrades at different float values - saved me from overpaying for minimal wear when field-tested looks identical on certain weapons

Nice upgrade from the Safari Mesh! I did something similar with my AWP skin. The wear differences on AK skins are really noticeable, especially around the magazine. Found that some field-tested Redlines look almost factory new if they have the right float value. The pattern placement makes a huge difference too - my friend has an AK where the design looks completely off-center. Smart move checking how the skin actually looks in-game versus just the inventory preview
